Open House Check List

The importance of showing a homes full potential is in the hands of both seller's and agents. Have you ever walked into a home for a scheduled open house to find it in disarray? I've seen it first hand on open houses I have visited.

What are some of the horror stories you experienced? Such as unfinished laundry, dishes in the sink, seller's who plan to remain in the home during the open house, etc.

Duane,  I had scheduled a showing on a listing where the listing agent warned of " a little messy renter."  I passed the warning on to my buyer but neither of us was prepared for the absolute filth we walke into.  We couldn't get out fast enough.  I called the agent to explain what was going on.  Soon thereafter it was shown as a short sale.

Bill, I have seen it as well. Rentals are the worst to control.

Nicole, you are welcome. It helps the sellers understand that it's not just the agents job. Hope it works well for you and your clients.
